Our First Female Black Belts

On Saturday June 27, 2009 a Black belt grading was held at the Honbu Dojo (Williams Family karate Academy in Jandakot). It was a special occassion as the two candiates attempting the grading were the first females to attempt a Shodan grading in Seito Shito Ryu in Australia.

Ingrid Williams and Lesley Markey have both been training at the Honbu Dojo for over 5 years and both of them did a great job of demonstrating the required techniques and kata of the Shito-Ryu Australia Karate-Do Kai curriculum.

Both Ingrid and Lesley will receive a Shodan menjo issued by  Soke Tsukasa Mabuni in Osaka.

We are all very proud of their acheivement. Well done Ingrid and Lesley!
